Pawns vs more pawns

It may be rarer than you think, but situations involving only pawns on the board do occur, and in these conditions the maneuvering of the king is key. One of the most common standoffs is the three pawns vs three pawns standoff.

In this situation. it may seem like no way out, but white has an easy win. g6  h into g6  ; f6! g into f6; h6!, and white is home with a passer.
Double pawns are more often than not very disastrous in these situations as they cannot be supported. Pawn chains are beneficial as long as the root pawn is protected. With good play, these games usually end in draws.
