A strategic game

Chess is a game which has been played by scholars, adults and a large number of schoolchildren and students as well. It isn't a sport of course...but as far as games go, chess is the pinnacle of strategy and planning. Played on a 64 square board, it composes of two teams, black and white(here again emphasizing its simplicity). Each team comprises a king, the objective of the game and the most priceless piece, 8 pawns which act as guards or walls to protect their territory, 2 knights, 2 rooks, and 2 bishops. The aim of the game is to trap the opponent's king or to force the opponent to resign.

I myself have been made fun of as I don't play sports and I only play chess well. I urge those who play chess to continue as this is a game which requires intellect and diplomatic thinking as well as patience. Such qualities would be less than useless in a game of rugby where brute force is the order of the day.
